Possible Causes
Blocked vents, Failed cooling fan, Open magnetron thermostat, Heavy continuous use without cooling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave. Do not operate if it repeatedly overheats.
- Clear vents: Inspect and clean all intake and exhaust vents. Remove grease filters (for OTR models) and clean them with warm soapy water; dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
- Allow extended cool-down: Let the microwave sit unplugged with the door open for at least 1 hour.
- Test fan operation: After cooling, plug in and start a short cook cycle with water. Confirm that the fan runs. If not, stop immediately and do not use until repaired.
- Internal thermostat check (advanced): With the cover removed (unplugged), locate the magnetron thermostat. Inspect for loose wires or signs of overheating.
- Replace failed thermostat or fan: If the thermostat is open (and not auto-reset type) or the fan motor is defective, replace with Haier-approved parts.
