Microwave displays LOC or a lock icon; keypad does not respond to cooking commands.

Safety: No internal repair is needed for this condition in most cases.

Disable child lock:

• On many Hamilton Beach models, press and hold the STOP/CLEAR or 0 key for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears.
• Consult your user manual for the exact lock/unlock key combination for your model.

If lock will not clear:

• Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try the unlock sequence again.
• If the keypad remains locked or some keys do not respond, the membrane keypad or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
