Possible Causes
Recent power outage or surge, Loose power cord connection at outlet, Faulty wall outlet or circuit, Internal control board power supply instability
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure your hands are dry when working with electrical outlets.
Steps:
- Press CLEAR/OFF or STOP to clear the PF message.
- Reset the clock and test a short cook cycle.
- If PF reappears frequently without known outages, plug the microwave into a different, properly grounded outlet (avoid extension cords).
- Inspect the power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. If damaged, discontinue use and have the cord replaced by a professional.
- If PF persists on multiple outlets, the internal control board power supply may be unstable and the board may need replacement.
Note: Consider using a surge protector rated for microwave ovens to reduce future PF events caused by surges.
