Possible Causes
Defective touch membrane, Damaged control panel PCB, Loose or oxidized ribbon cable, Moisture ingress behind keypad
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before removing any panels.
- Clean the control panel surface: Wipe the keypad gently with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to seep around the edges of the panel.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect and test. Sometimes static or minor glitches clear after a reset.
- Check for stuck keys: Press each button individually and ensure none are physically stuck or permanently depressed. A stuck key can trigger E06.
- Inspect ribbon cable (if front access is possible): Remove the control panel mounting screws, carefully tilt the panel forward, and reseat the flat ribbon cable between the keypad and the main PCB. Look for corrosion or damage on the contacts.
- Replace keypad or control panel: If certain keys do not respond or E06 persists, the touch membrane or control panel PCB is likely faulty. Replace with the correct Hansa keypad/control panel assembly.
Warning: Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel; liquid ingress can permanently damage the keypad.
