Verify installation clearances: Check the Hansa installation manual and ensure the microwave has the specified space around it. Adjust cabinetry or reposition the unit if necessary.
Clean external vents: Remove dust and grease from intake and exhaust vents using a vacuum and soft brush.
Check for heat sources: Avoid installing the microwave directly above or next to appliances that emit strong heat without proper insulation.
Test after cool-down: After at least 30 minutes of cooling with the door open, reconnect power and run a short low-power test. If E16 recurs quickly, the internal thermal cutout or fan may be faulty.
Professional service: A technician should test the cabinet thermal cutout and cooling fan motor and replace any defective components.

Warning: Do not bypass thermal cutouts; they prevent overheating and fire.

Microwave displays E16 and may shut down shortly after starting, especially on high power.
