Possible Causes
Moisture ingress into keypad,Shorted keypad membrane,Contaminated or damaged keypad ribbon cable,Defective control panel assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before cleaning around the control panel.
Steps:
- Dry the keypad: If the error appeared after heavy steam cooking, leave the door open and allow the control panel to dry for several hours. You can gently wipe the surface with a dry, lint-free cloth.
- Do not spray directly: Never spray cleaner directly onto the keypad. Spray onto a cloth first, then wipe. Liquids entering the panel can short the keypad.
- Power reset: After drying, plug the unit back in. If SE persists, the keypad is likely damaged.
Technician repair:
- Remove the control panel and inspect the keypad membrane and ribbon cable.
- Replace the control panel keypad assembly if shorted or corroded.
