Possible Causes
Defective Start button on keypad,Stuck or unresponsive keypad membrane,Control PCB input circuit failure,Child lock feature enabled
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before cleaning the keypad.
Steps:
- Check for child lock: Look for a lock icon or LOC on the display. If present, disable the lock by holding the designated key (often Stop/Cancel or 0) for several seconds.
- Test other keys: Try setting the clock or using other functions. If only the Start key fails, the keypad is likely faulty.
- Clean keypad surface: Wipe with a slightly damp cloth (no dripping liquid) and then dry. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect and test again.
If the issue persists:
- A technician may need to replace the control panel keypad or main control PCB.
