Display shows LOC or a lock icon; buttons do not respond and microwave will not start.

• Disable control lock: On most Hotpoint microwaves, press and hold the STOP/CANCEL or 0 key for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears. Refer to your user manual for the exact key combination.
• Test keypad: After unlocking, press several keys to confirm normal operation.
• Check for stuck keys: If LOC reappears or keys seem stuck, clean the keypad surface and ensure no liquid has seeped into the panel.
