• 3. Test door switches (interlocks): Remove the outer cabinet (after unplugging). Locate the door switch cluster near the latch side. On many IKEA-branded microwaves (e.g., Whirlpool/ Electrolux OEM), there are 2–3 microswitches mounted on a bracket. Using a multimeter on continuity, verify that each switch changes state (open/closed) when the door is opened/closed.
• 4. Inspect wiring harness: Check the small wiring harness from the switches to the control board for loose connectors, heat damage, or broken spades. Reseat connectors firmly.
• 5. Replace faulty switch: If any switch does not click crisply or fails continuity tests, replace the entire door switch (interlock) assembly or the individual microswitches with the correct IKEA/Whirlpool/Electrolux-compatible part.
