Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Broken turntable coupler, Jammed turntable mechanism, Faulty turntable sensor circuit on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before working underneath or inside the cabinet.
Steps:
- 1. Check the glass tray and roller ring: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean both and the cavity floor. Food debris can jam the turntable.
- 2. Inspect the coupler: Check the plastic coupler that fits onto the turntable motor shaft. If it is cracked or stripped, it will not drive the tray.
- 3. Test without load: With the tray and ring removed, run the microwave briefly with a cup of water. Look through the window to see if the coupler turns. If not, the motor or its power supply may be faulty.
- 4. Access the motor (DIYers): Remove the bottom cover (on built-in models, remove from cabinet first). Test the turntable motor for continuity with a multimeter. Inspect wiring to the motor.
Resolution: Replace the turntable motor and/or coupler with the correct IKEA-compatible parts if they are open, seized, or physically damaged.
