Possible Causes

Failed power relay on PCB, Burnt relay solder joints, Faulty low‑voltage control circuit, Damaged PCB track on main control module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the microwave from the mains. Microwaves contain high‑voltage components (capacitor, transformer, magnetron) that can retain a dangerous charge even when unplugged. If you are not trained to work on high‑voltage appliances, do not proceed beyond basic checks.

  • Step 1 – Power reset: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and test. Sometimes F01 can be a transient control fault.
  • Step 2 – Check door operation: Open and close the door firmly several times. Ensure the door latches engage fully and the interior light turns on/off correctly. A misaligned door can prevent the relay from energising.
  • Step 3 – Inspect control panel and PCB (advanced): Remove the outer cabinet (after unplugging). Locate the main control board on the right side behind the control panel. Visually inspect for burnt or cracked solder joints around the main power relay and any darkened areas on the PCB.
  • Step 4 – Test relay coil (advanced): With the board removed and discharged, use a multimeter to measure the relay coil resistance. An open coil indicates a failed relay that must be replaced or the entire PCB swapped.
  • Step 5 – Replace main control module: If the relay or drive circuit is defective, the usual repair is to replace the complete Indesit main control board with the correct part number for your model.

Warning: Do not power the microwave with covers removed. If you are unsure, contact an authorised Indesit service technician.
