Possible Causes
Damaged touch membrane, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and PCB, Faulty user interface board, Moisture ingress behind control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Disconnect from mains for 10 minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes F06 clears after a full reset.
- Step 2 – Clean the panel surface: Wipe the keypad with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to run into the edges of the panel.
- Step 3 – Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel assembly (usually held by a few screws). Check the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the main PCB. Reseat the connector carefully and ensure it is fully inserted.
- Step 4 – Check for moisture or corrosion: Look for signs of condensation, steam damage, or corrosion on the keypad connector. If present, the keypad membrane or UI board may need replacement.
- Step 5 – Replace keypad or UI board: If specific keys do not respond or F06 persists, replace the touch control membrane or complete user interface board with the correct Indesit part.
Tip: Avoid using harsh chemicals on the keypad, as they can damage the membrane.
