Microwave displays F13 and may shut down or refuse to start after prolonged use, especially on grill or convection settings.

Safety first: Unplug the microwave and allow it to cool before inspection.

• Step 1 – Check external ventilation: Ensure that the installation meets Indesit clearance requirements. Remove any items blocking the side, rear, or top vents.
• Step 2 – Listen for fan operation: During a cooking cycle, you should hear the cooling fan running. If the fan is silent and F13 appears, suspect a fan fault.
• Step 3 – Inspect fan (advanced): Remove the outer cabinet and locate the cooling fan (usually near the magnetron or at the rear). Check for debris or insulation blocking the blades.
• Step 4 – Test fan motor: With the unit unplugged, spin the fan by hand; it should move freely. Measure motor resistance and check for an open circuit. Replace the fan if defective.
• Step 5 – Check fan control on PCB: If the fan is good but never receives power, the control board's fan relay or triac may be faulty and the board may need replacement.
