Possible Causes

Failed convection fan motor, Jammed fan blades, Burnt wiring to convection fan, Faulty fan relay on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before working near the convection heater and fan.

  • Step 1 – Confirm symptom: Select a convection‑only program and start. If you do not hear the rear fan and F16 appears, suspect the convection fan circuit.
  • Step 2 – Visual inspection: Remove the rear panel (if accessible) or outer cabinet to view the convection fan. Check for grease buildup or foreign objects blocking the blades.
  • Step 3 – Manual rotation: With power disconnected, spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff, the motor may be seized.
  • Step 4 – Electrical test: Disconnect the fan motor and measure its resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
  • Step 5 – Replace motor or repair wiring: Fit a new Indesit convection fan motor and repair any damaged wiring. If the motor is good but never powered, the control board relay may be defective and require replacement.

Note: Ensure the fan shroud and guards are correctly refitted to maintain proper airflow.
