Microwave door will not open or is very difficult to open after cooking.

Safety first: Unplug the microwave before attempting mechanical repairs. Avoid forcing the door open with tools that could damage the seal.

• Step 1 – Gentle release: Try pressing the door release button firmly while gently pulling the door. Do not yank or twist excessively.
• Step 2 – Inspect for obstructions: Look around the door frame for food debris or foreign objects lodged in the latch area.
• Step 3 – Access latch mechanism (advanced): Remove the outer cabinet and, if necessary, the control panel to view the latch levers and springs. Check for broken plastic parts or dislodged springs.
• Step 4 – Replace damaged parts: Fit new Indesit latch hooks, springs, or door release levers as required. Ensure smooth operation before reassembling.
• Step 5 – Check door alignment: Verify that the door sits squarely in the frame and that hinges are not bent.
