How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety Warning: Unplug the microwave before accessing the control panel. Do not use sharp tools on the keypad surface.

Steps:

  • Unplug the unit for 5 minutes to reset the control, then plug back in and test all keys.
  • Clean the keypad surface with a slightly damp cloth (no harsh chemicals) to remove grease and residue that may cause sticking.
  • If certain keys never respond (e.g., START, STOP, numbers), the touchpad membrane is likely failing.

  • Remove the control panel assembly according to the Insignia service instructions.
  • Disconnect and reseat the keypad ribbon cable on the control board.
