How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety Warning: Unplug the microwave before removing the glass tray or accessing the underside.
Steps:
- Remove the glass tray and support ring. Clean both and the cavity floor.
- Inspect the turntable coupler for cracks or wear; replace if damaged.
- Reinstall the support ring and tray, ensuring they sit flat and centered.
- Test the microwave with a small cup of water; if the tray still does not turn, the turntable motor may be faulty.
Technician-level:
- Access the motor from the bottom of the cavity or underside of the unit.
- Test the motor for proper resistance and replace if open or seized.
You can usually operate the microwave without the turntable temporarily by manually rotating food, but even heating will be reduced.
