Possible Causes

Failed convection temperature sensor, Overheated cavity due to blocked vents, Faulty high-limit thermostat, Control board misreading sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool completely before servicing.

  • Check airflow: Ensure that the convection fan intake and exhaust vents inside the cavity are not blocked by foil, pans, or food debris.
  • Inspect high-limit thermostat: Locate the cavity high-limit thermostat (usually on top of the cavity or near the convection heater). Check for signs of overheating or discoloration.
  • Test thermostat: With power off, remove one wire and test the thermostat for continuity. If it is open at room temperature and not a resettable type, it must be replaced.
  • Test convection sensor: Locate the convection temperature sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature, comparing to the tech sheet values. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
  • Resettable thermostat: If your model uses a resettable thermostat, press the small red or black reset button (if present) to restore continuity.
  • Replace faulty parts: Replace the high-limit thermostat or convection temperature sensor as needed. If sensors and thermostats are good, the control board may be defective.
