Possible Causes
Overheated magnetron due to blocked airflow, Failed magnetron thermostat, Weak or failing cooling fan, Excessive duty cycle (continuous cooking)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before inspection.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the microwave per the installation manual. Do not block top, side, or rear vents.
- Clean filters and vents: On over-the-range models, remove and clean the grease filters. Vacuum dust from intake and exhaust vents.
- Allow cool-down: If the unit has been used heavily, let it rest for 30–60 minutes before reuse.
- Check cooling fan: Listen for the internal fan during operation. If it is noisy, slow, or not running, the fan motor may need replacement.
- Thermostat check (pro level): A technician can test the magnetron thermostat and replace it if it opens prematurely or fails to reset.
If E-25 recurs frequently even with good ventilation, have the cooling system and magnetron inspected professionally.
