Microwave displays LOC or a lock icon; keypad does not respond to normal button presses.

Safety: No internal repair is needed for this condition.

• Disable control lock: On many Kenmore models, press and hold the Stop/Clear or 0 key for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears. Refer to your user manual for the exact key combination.
• Power reset: If the lock will not clear, unplug the microwave for 1–2 minutes, plug back in, and try the unlock sequence again.

If the display remains locked and will not respond to the documented unlock procedure, the control panel or board may be faulty and require service.
