Possible Causes
Stripped turntable coupler, Failed turntable motor, Broken turntable support or rollers, Obstruction under the turntable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before accessing the bottom panel or motor.
- Check for obstruction: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean any spilled food or debris from the cavity floor.
- Inspect coupler: The plastic coupler that fits into the motor shaft may be cracked or stripped. Replace if damaged.
- Test motor: With the tray removed, run the microwave briefly and look through the glass tray hub to see if the coupler turns. If not, the motor may be bad.
- Replace motor: Access the turntable motor from the bottom of the unit (often by removing a bottom panel). Disconnect wiring, remove mounting screws, and install a new Kenmore-compatible turntable motor.
Do not operate the microwave with the glass tray removed for normal cooking, as heating may be uneven.
