Possible Causes
Worn membrane keypad, Moisture ingress behind control panel, Loose keypad ribbon connector, Faulty main PCB key-scan circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before touching the control panel internals.
Steps:
- Check for child lock: Ensure LOC or a lock icon is not displayed; disable child lock if active.
- Clean panel: Wipe the keypad with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid excessive moisture.
- Test all keys: Note which keys fail; if entire rows or columns are dead, the ribbon or keypad is likely at fault.
- Reseat ribbon (if accessible): Remove the top grille and control panel mounting screw, tilt the panel out (with power unplugged), and reseat the keypad ribbon cable.
If keys remain unresponsive, the keypad or control panel assembly must be replaced by a technician.
