Possible Causes

Loose keypad ribbon cable, Corroded connector on control board, Damaged keypad membrane, Faulty main PCB interface circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the microwave before touching any internal parts. Do not remove the outer metal cabinet.

Steps (front access only):

  • Remove top grille: On over-the-range models, remove the screws securing the top grille and slide it out.
  • Loosen control panel: Remove the screw holding the control panel, then gently lift and tilt the panel forward (with power disconnected).
  • Reseat keypad ribbon: Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the main PCB. Carefully unplug and reinsert it, ensuring it is straight and fully seated. Do not force it.
  • Reassemble and test: Reinstall the control panel and grille, plug the unit back in, and test keypad functions.

If F6 persists or some keys still do not respond, the keypad assembly or main PCB likely needs replacement. Because this involves high-voltage areas, have a professional complete the repair.
