Possible Causes
High-moisture cooking without cover, Blocked or inadequate ventilation, Worn door gasket surfaces, Clogged grease filters (OTR models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Moisture itself is not usually dangerous, but keep the control panel dry to avoid keypad issues.
Steps:
- Use covers: Cover high-moisture foods with a microwave-safe lid or wrap to reduce steam.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure vents are not blocked and that over-the-range exhaust fans and filters are clean.
- Wipe down: After cooking, wipe moisture from the door, gasket area, and control panel with a dry cloth.
- Door inspection: Check the door seal surfaces for damage or warping. Minor condensation on the door glass is normal, but pooling water is not.
If moisture is excessive or enters the control panel causing errors, have a technician inspect the door alignment and gasket surfaces.
