Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before handling internal moving parts.
Steps:
- Check loading: Ensure the glass tray is properly seated on the center coupler and roller ring. Avoid oversized dishes that contact the cavity walls.
- Inspect roller ring: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean both and the cavity floor. Check for flat spots or broken wheels on the ring.
- Inspect coupler: Check the plastic coupler on the floor of the cavity for cracks or rounding of the drive splines.
- Manual rotation test: With the tray removed and power disconnected, gently try to turn the coupler by hand. It should turn with some resistance. If it is locked or very loose, the motor or coupler may be damaged.
If cleaning and reseating do not restore rotation, the turntable motor or coupler likely needs replacement from underneath the unit, which should be done by a technician.
