Possible Causes

Open cavity thermostat, Open magnetron thermal cut-out, Faulty NTC temperature sensor on cavity, Loose thermal sensor wiring to control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: Always unplug the Logik microwave before removing the cabinet. Internal components can store high voltage; do not touch the capacitor, magnetron, or high-voltage wiring.

Steps to diagnose:

  • 1. Allow full cool-down: If the microwave was used heavily, let it cool for at least 30 minutes. Some thermal cut-outs auto-reset when cooled. Plug back in and check if E2 clears.
  • 2. Check ventilation: Ensure the rear and sides of the microwave have adequate clearance (typically 10 cm or more). Blocked vents can cause overheating and trigger thermal devices.
  • 3. Access thermostats: Remove the outer cover. Locate the cavity thermostat (usually clipped to the top or side of the cooking cavity) and the magnetron thermal cut-out (mounted on the magnetron body).
  • 4. Test continuity: With a multimeter, test each thermostat/thermal cut-out for continuity. A device that reads open (infinite resistance) at room temperature and is not a resettable type is likely blown and must be replaced.
  • 5. Inspect NTC sensor (if fitted): Some Logik models use an NTC sensor wired to the control PCB. Check for broken wires or loose connectors. If the sensor is physically damaged or reads open/shorted, replace it.
  • 6. Replace faulty thermal device: Install a like-for-like Logik-compatible thermostat or thermal cut-out with the same temperature rating and mounting style.

Important: If a thermal device has failed, also check that the cooling fan is working and vents are not blocked, otherwise the new part may fail again.
