Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before inspection. Do not insert tools or fingers into fan openings while plugged in.
Steps:
- 1. Check external vents: Ensure the rear, sides, and top vents are not blocked by cabinets, walls, or objects. Remove any dust buildup with a vacuum and soft brush.
- 2. Listen for fan operation: Start a short cook cycle. If E4 appears and you never hear the internal cooling fan start, the fan motor or its wiring may be faulty.
- 3. Inspect fan area (if accessible): With the cover removed (unplugged), locate the cooling fan (usually at the rear near the magnetron). Check that the fan blade spins freely by hand and is not obstructed by wiring or debris.
- 4. Check wiring: Inspect the fan motor connector and wiring harness to the control PCB for loose or burnt connections. Reseat any loose plugs.
- 5. Replace fan motor if seized or open-circuit: If the fan does not spin freely or tests open with a multimeter, replace it with a compatible Logik cooling fan motor assembly.
If E4 persists after ensuring clear airflow and a working fan, the control PCB may be misreading the fan feedback and should be checked by a technician.
