Possible Causes
Burnt or damaged mica waveguide cover, Metal object or foil in cavity, Food splatter carbonized on cavity wall, Exposed metal on cavity coating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Stop the microwave immediately by pressing STOP or opening the door. Unplug before cleaning or inspection.
Steps:
- 1. Remove metal: Ensure no metal utensils, foil, or twist ties are inside.
- 2. Clean thoroughly: Scrub away any burnt food or grease from the cavity walls, ceiling, and around the waveguide cover using a non-abrasive cleaner. Dry completely.
- 3. Inspect waveguide cover: If the mica cover is burnt, cracked, or has holes, remove it and replace with a Logik-compatible waveguide cover cut to size.
- 4. Check cavity coating: If paint is chipped exposing bare metal, touch-up with microwave-safe cavity paint following manufacturer guidance.
Do not operate the microwave without a waveguide cover in place.
