Possible Causes
Blown line fuse, Open thermal fuse on cavity or magnetron, Faulty power cord, Failed main control board power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before opening the cabinet.
Basic checks:
- Verify the wall outlet has power by testing with another appliance.
- Check the household circuit breaker or fuse.
Internal checks:
- Remove the outer cabinet and locate the line fuse near the power cord entry. Test it for continuity; replace only with the same rating if blown and after identifying the cause.
- Locate thermal fuses on the cavity and magnetron; test for continuity. Replace any that are open with Magic Chef-specified parts.
- Inspect the power cord for damage or loose connections at the terminal block.
Control board:
- If fuses and cord are good but the unit is still dead, the main control board's low-voltage power supply may have failed and the board will need replacement.
