Possible Causes
Burned-out cavity light bulb, Loose lamp socket, Failed lamp relay on control board, Broken lamp wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before replacing the lamp.
Accessing the lamp:
- On many Magic Chef countertop models, the lamp is accessed by removing the outer cabinet and locating the lamp housing near the front.
- On over-the-range models, there may be a dedicated lamp cover underneath.
Replacement:
- Remove the old bulb and inspect the filament. Replace with the same type and wattage specified by Magic Chef.
- Check the socket for corrosion or heat damage; replace the socket if necessary.
If still not working:
- Verify voltage to the lamp during operation (technician-level test).
- If no voltage is present, the lamp relay or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
