Microwave interior light does not come on, but unit heats and otherwise works normally.

Safety: Unplug the microwave before replacing the lamp.

Accessing the lamp:

• On many Magic Chef countertop models, the lamp is accessed by removing the outer cabinet and locating the lamp housing near the front.
• On over-the-range models, there may be a dedicated lamp cover underneath.

Replacement:

• Remove the old bulb and inspect the filament. Replace with the same type and wattage specified by Magic Chef.
• Check the socket for corrosion or heat damage; replace the socket if necessary.

If still not working:

• Verify voltage to the lamp during operation (technician-level test).
• If no voltage is present, the lamp relay or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
