Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Broken or stripped turntable coupler, Damaged turntable support or rollers, Loose wiring to turntable motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before accessing the underside or interior components.
Simple checks:
- Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Inspect for broken wheels or obstructions.
- Check the plastic coupler that fits over the motor shaft for cracks or wear.
Motor access:
- On many Magic Chef models, the turntable motor is accessed from the bottom. Remove the bottom cover (if present) after unplugging the unit.
- Disconnect the motor wires and test the motor for continuity with a multimeter. An open reading indicates a failed motor.
Corrective actions:
- Replace a failed turntable motor with the correct Magic Chef turntable motor.
- Replace a cracked coupler or damaged roller ring.
- Ensure the motor mounting screws are tight and the shaft turns freely.
