Safety: No internal repair is needed for this condition in most cases.

Disable control lock:

• On many Maytag models, press and hold the Cancel or Off button for 3–5 seconds until the lock indicator clears.
• Some models use a specific key combination (e.g., press and hold Start or a key labeled with a lock icon). Refer to the user manual if unsure.

If LOC will not clear:

• Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try again.
