Microwave interior light does not come on when the door opens or during cooking, but unit otherwise works.

Safety first: Unplug the microwave before replacing the bulb or accessing internal components.

Bulb replacement:

• On many Maytag over-the-range models, the cavity light is accessed from the bottom by removing a cover or grille.
• Remove the cover, unscrew the old bulb, and install a new bulb of the correct type and wattage specified in the manual.

If new bulb does not work:

• Check the bulb socket for corrosion or damage.
• A faulty door switch or control board light relay may be preventing power to the bulb and will require further diagnosis.
