Possible Causes
Open circuit in key matrix lines, Damaged membrane keypad, Cracked control PCB traces, Contamination under touch keys
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
- Test all keys: Note which keys do not respond. If an entire row or column of keys fails, the key matrix line is likely open.
- Clean panel surface: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not allow liquid to seep into the edges.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and check the keypad ribbon cable for cracks or kinks. Reseat the cable in its connector.
- Replace keypad or UI board: If specific keys remain non-functional and F12 persists, replace the membrane keypad or the entire control panel assembly as recommended by Miele.
