Possible Causes
Tripped cavity overheat thermostat, Blocked cooling airflow around oven, Failed cooling fan, Defective overheat thermostat stuck open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the unit to cool fully before inspection.
- Allow full cool-down: Leave the door open and wait at least 60 minutes. Restore power and test. Some thermostats auto-reset when cooled.
- Check ventilation: Ensure that built-in trim kits and cabinetry provide the clearances specified by Miele. Remove any items stored on top of or against the microwave.
- Verify fan operation: During grill/convection use, listen for the cooling fan. If it does not run, stop using the unit and disconnect power.
- Inspect thermostat (advanced): With covers removed, locate the cavity overheat thermostat (usually on the top or side of the cavity). Check wiring and mounting.
- Replace thermostat or fan: If the thermostat does not reset or tests open at room temperature, replace it. If the fan is not running, replace the fan motor. Continued F14 errors may indicate a control board issue requiring professional service.
