Possible Causes
Failed turntable motor, Jammed turntable or support ring, Damaged turntable coupler, Faulty motor wiring or control relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before accessing the underside or internal components.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the glass tray and support ring. Clean any spilled food or debris from the turntable drive area. Ensure the support ring wheels roll freely.
- Inspect coupler: Check the plastic coupler that fits over the motor shaft for cracks or wear. Replace if damaged.
- Test without load: Run the microwave briefly (with a microwave-safe cup of water) and observe whether the motor shaft turns without the tray installed.
- Access motor (advanced): Remove the bottom cover (if accessible) to reach the turntable motor. Test the motor for continuity with a multimeter and check wiring connections.
- Replace motor: If the motor is open or seized, replace the turntable motor assembly. If the motor is good but not receiving power, the control relay or board may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
