Safety first: Unplug the microwave before inspecting the door mechanism. Do not operate the unit with the cover removed or with door switches bypassed.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Look for obstructions, warped door, or damaged door seals.
• Inspect latch hooks: Open the door and inspect the plastic latch hooks that engage the interlock switches. If they are cracked, loose, or misaligned, the switches may not actuate correctly.
• Test door operation: Gently press on the door while starting a program. If the unit starts or stops when pressure is applied, the door switches or latch alignment are suspect.
• Inspect switches (advanced): With the outer cover removed and power disconnected, locate the door interlock switch cluster. Check for loose mounting screws, bent actuator levers, or burned connectors.
• Replace faulty switches: Test each microswitch with a multimeter for proper open/closed operation when the door is opened/closed. Replace any switch that does not change state reliably. If the latch bracket is damaged, replace the entire door latch assembly.
