Possible Causes
Failed humidity sensor, Contaminated sensor from grease or steam, Loose wiring to humidity sensor, Faulty main control board interpreting sensor signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing covers or panels.
- Clean cavity: Wipe down the interior of the microwave, especially near the steam/humidity sensor (often located in the upper cavity area). Remove grease and residue that may coat the sensor.
- Ventilate: Leave the door open for several hours to allow moisture to dissipate, then test again.
- Inspect sensor (advanced): Remove the outer cover and locate the humidity sensor module. Check for loose connectors or damaged wiring.
- Replace sensor: If cleaning and reseating connections do not clear F8, replace the humidity sensor module. If the error persists with a new sensor, the main control board may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
