Microwave has a strong chemical or plastic smell when new or after high-temperature use.

Safety note: Mild odors are common in new appliances but should diminish with use. If you experience eye or throat irritation, ventilate the area.

• Initial burn-in: Run the microwave empty on a low power setting for a few minutes, then with a bowl of water and lemon slices for 5–10 minutes to help absorb odors.
• Ventilate: Open windows or use an exhaust fan during initial uses.
• Monitor: Odors should decrease significantly after several uses. If they intensify or are accompanied by smoke, stop using the unit and contact service.
