Possible Causes

Stuck keypad button, contaminated keypad contacts from moisture or cleaning solution, damaged keypad ribbon cable, failed touch control panel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the microwave before disassembly. Avoid contact with high-voltage components.

  • Soft reset: Turn power off for 5 minutes, then restore. If F2 appears immediately or when a specific key is pressed, the keypad is likely defective.
  • Dry out moisture: If F2 appeared after heavy steam cooking or cleaning, leave the door open and allow the control area to dry for several hours. Do not spray cleaners directly on the control panel; apply to a cloth instead.
  • Inspect keypad surface: Check for cracks, bubbling, or liquid intrusion around the touchpad. Any visible damage usually requires keypad/control panel replacement.
  • Check ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and inspect the keypad ribbon cable for corrosion or damage. Reseat the connector on the control board.
  • Replace keypad/control panel: If F2 persists, replace the Monogram control panel / keypad assembly using the correct part number. Follow the service manual for panel removal and reinstallation.

Note: Do not attempt to repair the membrane keypad itself; it is a sealed component.
