Possible Causes
Blocked exhaust vents, incorrect venting installation on over-the-range models, cooking high-moisture foods without venting, failed cavity fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the unit to cool before cleaning.
- Ventilation check: Ensure the external vent damper opens freely and that ductwork is not blocked.
- Use fan: On over-the-range Monogram microwaves, run the exhaust fan during and after cooking to remove steam.
- Wipe down: After cooking, wipe moisture from the cavity walls and leave the door slightly open to air dry.
- Fan operation: If internal fans are not running, have a technician inspect the cavity cooling fan and exhaust fan.
