Possible Causes
Failed primary or secondary door switch, misaligned door latch, broken door latch lever, failed Start key on keypad, control board relay failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the microwave before accessing internal components.
- Check door indication: Many Monogram models show a door icon or message if the door is open. If the display thinks the door is open when it is closed, suspect the door switches.
- Try firm door closure: Gently lift up on the door while closing and then press Start. If it starts intermittently, the door latch or hinges are misaligned.
- Test Start key: Try multiple keys. If only the Start key fails, the keypad may be defective.
- Inspect door switches: Access the door switch bracket and test each door interlock switch with a multimeter. Replace any that do not change state correctly.
- Control board: If switches and keypad test good, the electronic control board relay or logic may be faulty and require replacement.
