Door inspection:

• Open the door and inspect the plastic latch hooks on the door of your Neff microwave. Look for cracks, wear, or missing pieces.
• Check that the door closes evenly and that the gap around the door is uniform.
• Clean the latch area and frame with a damp cloth to remove grease or debris that may prevent full closure.

Switch and latch checks:

• Remove the outer cabinet and locate the door latch bracket and switches.
• Verify that when the door is closed, the latch hooks fully depress the switch actuators.
• If a hook is broken or the bracket is loose, replace the door latch assembly or tighten the bracket screws.
• Test the door sensing switch with a multimeter for proper open/closed operation.

After replacing any damaged latch or switch, reassemble and test. If E005 persists, the control board may not be reading the door circuit correctly and may require professional diagnosis.
