Microwave will not start; display shows E1 immediately after pressing START.

Safety first: Unplug the OBH Nordica microwave from the mains before removing any panels. High voltage is present inside even when unplugged (charged capacitors). Do not touch the high-voltage section (capacitor, transformer, magnetron).

• Step 1 – Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Inspect the plastic latch hooks on the door for cracks or deformation. If the door feels loose or does not click firmly, the interlock switches may not engage.
• Step 2 – Inspect door frame and hinges: Look for bent hinges or misaligned door. Gently lift the door up and down; excessive play can prevent switches from actuating. Tighten accessible hinge screws if loose.
• Step 3 – Test door switches (for qualified persons only): Remove the outer cabinet (usually screws at the back and sides). Locate the door interlock switch cluster near the latch area. With the unit unplugged, use a multimeter in continuity mode to test each switch while opening/closing the door. Replace any switch that does not change state reliably.
• Step 4 – Inspect wiring harness: Check the small harness connecting the switches to the control board for loose connectors, burnt marks, or broken wires. Reseat connectors firmly.
• When to stop: If the E1 error persists after confirming latch alignment and replacing faulty switches, the control PCB may be defective. At this point, contact an authorized OBH Nordica service center.
