Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between keypad and control board, Damaged touch membrane, Failed control PCB input circuit, Moisture behind control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Power cycle: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes E6 is a transient communication error.
- Step 2 – Inspect control panel area: Check for signs of moisture or liquid spills around the keypad. Wipe the surface dry and allow the unit to air out with the door open.
- Step 3 – Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the control panel assembly (usually a few screws behind the trim). Carefully disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the main control board. Ensure it is fully seated and not kinked.
- Step 4 – Visual check of keypad: If certain buttons are unresponsive or stuck, the touch membrane may be damaged. Replace the keypad or complete control panel assembly with an OBH Nordica-compatible part.
- Step 5 – Control board replacement: If a known-good keypad still results in E6, the main PCB may be faulty and should be replaced by a professional.
