Possible Causes

Failed turntable motor, Jammed turntable coupler, Broken turntable drive shaft, Loose wiring to turntable motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the microwave before accessing the underside or internal components.

  • Step 1 – Check glass tray and roller ring: Remove the glass tray and roller ring. Clean them and the cavity floor. Ensure no food debris is blocking the rollers or coupler.
  • Step 2 – Inspect coupler: Check the plastic coupler that fits into the motor shaft. If it is cracked or stripped, replace it.
  • Step 3 – Test rotation by hand: With the tray removed, gently turn the coupler by hand. It should rotate smoothly. If it is stiff or seized, the motor may be jammed.
  • Step 4 – Access turntable motor: On many OBH Nordica models, the motor is accessible from the bottom. Remove the bottom plate (if present) and disconnect the motor wires. Test the motor for continuity with a multimeter. An open motor indicates failure.
  • Step 5 – Replace motor: Install a compatible OBH Nordica turntable motor, reconnect wiring, and reassemble. Test with a light load.
