Possible Causes
Open grill heating element, Open convection heater, Failed convection fan motor, Faulty heater relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any covers. Heating elements can remain hot after use.
- Step 1 – Test basic microwave-only mode: Run a simple microwave-only program with a cup of water. If microwave heating works but grill/convection does not, the issue is isolated to the heater circuit.
- Step 2 – Visual inspection: Remove the rear or top cover (depending on model) to access the grill and convection elements. Look for breaks in the element, burn marks, or disconnected wires.
- Step 3 – Check convection fan: Spin the convection fan blade by hand (if accessible). It should move freely. A seized fan can cause overheating and error codes.
- Step 4 – Test element continuity: With a multimeter, test the grill and convection elements for continuity. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Step 5 – Replace faulty parts: Install OBH Nordica-compatible grill or convection elements and, if necessary, a new convection fan motor. Ensure all high-temperature wiring is correctly routed and secured.
- Step 6 – Control board: If elements and fan test good, the heater relay or control PCB may be defective and should be serviced professionally.
