Possible Causes
Aging LED/VFD display, Failing low-voltage capacitors on control board, Loose display connector, Heat damage behind control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or spills around the display area. Dry thoroughly.
- Step 2 – Reseat connectors: Remove the control panel and reseat the connector between the display module and the main PCB.
- Step 3 – Inspect capacitors: Look for bulging or leaking electrolytic capacitors on the control board. These can cause low voltage to the display.
- Step 4 – Replace display or PCB: If the display itself is failing, replace the display module or entire control panel assembly. If power supply components are bad, replace the main PCB.
