How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the cabinet becomes too hot to touch or you smell burning, unplug the unit immediately.
- Step 1 – Check clearances: Verify that the microwave has the minimum side, top, and rear clearances specified in the OBH Nordica manual.
- Step 2 – Clean vents: Remove dust and grease from intake and exhaust vents using a vacuum and soft brush.
- Step 3 – Test cooling fan: During operation, listen and feel for airflow from the exhaust vents. If there is no airflow, the cooling fan may have failed.
- Step 4 – Replace fan if needed: With power disconnected, access and replace the cooling fan motor if it is not operating or is seized.
- Step 5 – Adjust usage: Avoid running multiple long, high-power cycles back-to-back without allowing cooling time.
