Possible Causes

Loose fan blade, Worn fan motor bearings, Misaligned turntable, Loose internal screws or panels

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the microwave before internal inspection.

  • Step 1 – Isolate source: Run the microwave briefly with a cup of water and listen carefully to locate the noise (top, side, bottom). Stop and unplug.
  • Step 2 – Check turntable system: Remove and reseat the glass tray and roller ring. Replace any damaged parts.
  • Step 3 – Inspect fan: Remove the cover and inspect the cooling fan and, on convection models, the convection fan. Ensure blades are not rubbing against shrouds and that mounting screws are tight.
  • Step 4 – Tighten hardware: Tighten any loose screws on the chassis, transformer, and panels that may vibrate.
  • Step 5 – Replace noisy motor: If a fan motor has excessive play or grinding bearings, replace it with an OBH Nordica-compatible fan motor.
